Schleimpflug Principle

When you have a large format camera with the film plane and lens lined up together you will have a selected depth of field, however if you shift the film plane a smidgen you can make the whole image come into focus. This is known as the schliempflug principle. It is amazing. It is useful when photographing a wall when you want everything in focus.

We also learnt how to correct converging lines in photoshop. This can be done in camera by shifting the film plane up and down, or photoshop can do it for you by lens correcting and transforming, however the issue here is that you can lose image quality because you will be making something from nothing.
